Mitch doesn't really care to play with other dogs much, but he much prefers smaller dogs. He used to really like playing with a boxer, but we only saw them a few times and then never again.
There is this one hound dog named Trooper that Mitch will follow EVERYWHERE because Tropper carries this big rubber squeaky ball in his mouth the whole time he's at the park, but I wouldn't really call that playing together It's mostly Mitch trying to take the ball out of Trooper's mouth and Trooper running away, and Mitch following.

 

My dogs love all dogs

 

She does not like smushy faces (neither does my youngest aussie)

She loves terriers (Though all but one are petrified of her) and she loves the aussies

 

I've noticed when going to the standard poodle meet-ups at the dog park all the poodles stick together..it's kind of neat to watch.

I notice the same with my German Shepherd..she tends to find other shepherds and stick by them at the dog park.

I don't know if it's just a neat coincidence or if dogs do have breed recognition. Either way mine love just about everyone!

Vega does not like overly loud/hyper dogs. They tend to scare him a bit and he avoids them.

 

I think Lola must think she is a poodle because all of her best friends at daycare are poodles or poodle mixes! Dixie is also partial to poodley dog Guess I was just meant to get a poodle

 

jessie loves all dogs but seems to like other poodles and small dogs best. if large dogs are a bit aggressive she shys away. my friend who is also a poodle owner says "poodles know other poodles". i think she is right.

 

The only breed I have seen my Poos and Whippets really take a dislike to are Jack Russells. I think because they are small and dart all over the place, my guys would just as soon eat them as attempt to play. And when there is a JRT is their vicinity, they take on a pack dog mentality and work as a team to try and ambush the JRT and finish it off. Other than that, they welcome all dogs into this house equally and play and get along with every canine that walks through our door.

 

Desmond likes all dogs Some of the dogs I know he plays with at the park are Beagles, Mini Schnauzers, Chihuahuas, Goldens, Doodles, Great Danes, Bouvier de Flandres, Great Pyrenees, and all sorts of Spaniels. He gets along REALLY well with puppies. His favorites tend to be puppies and young dogs.

He tends to gravitate towards other large, hairy dogs though. He likes everybody so long as they are happy-go-lucky and want to play, but he tends to really go for the ones that are big, white, and fluffy. Pyrenees, doodles (he really never plays with the poodles at the park. I don't blame him; they are no fun and kind of mean. ), and one time we met a fawn-colored Bouvier who he just loved!

 

My dogs love most breeds, they are afraid of GSD. Whippets tend to attack them and Charly HATES Poodles :O
He does not do anything bad with them just growl he never growls toward any other breed and he is fine with poodles who live with us.

 

Riker likes bully breeds most, he seems to think he is one of them. I attribute this to his introduction early on to my sister's french mastiff x, they have regular playdates. He also likes poodles though, and tends to adjust his playing style from fighting to chasing and jumping.

 

Sunday we were at the dog park and there were a total of 6 spoos, including Jazzi and Ella. It was so much fun to watch all the poodles play! Jazzi always zeros in on poodles, but she really likes Wheatens too. Ella will only play with Jazzi, but she seems to like any little dogs.

 

Billy has never met a dog he didn't like no matter how big, small, heavy or light. He loves them all. He just can't figure out how to play with some of them...LMBO! Taffy can take them or leave them...any kind. She's a momma's girl and usually sticks by my side even when we are walking alone.

 

Cosmo likes to play with small dogs, any dog that is a fast runner and will play chase with him, and he likes to play with puppies. His very favorite playmate is my parents' yellow lab that he spends lots of time with. He absolutely loves all people.

I am unhappy to say that he can be sort of aggressive with other big dogs at the dog park (barking, teeth showing, guarding his frisbee, etc.). He does not fight, but acts dominant and is not particularly friendly. Strangely, it seems like the more the other dog looks like him, the more aggressive he is. His too least favorite dogs at the dog park is another big black standard poodle, and a black poodle mix/labradoodle type dog. His behavior is at its worst when he has lots of pent-up energy. I wish he would be friendlier at the dog park - I always feel like I have to watch him and I don't want other dog owners to be lery of him. We are working on it...

 

Riley loves other poodles, and will make friends with them. Goldens are another favorite I think because i used to housesit 3, and he went with and was great buds with them. He likes the lab girls too (by likes, i mean will hump!!). Boxers! Riley doesnt really like dogs that park alot or are really loud. He shuts down when there is one bossy dog that "yells"/barks at everyone for having fun. He gets a very sad pouty face like "I dont understand, we just wanted to have fun. Mooooommmmm!"!!

 

Henry loves all dogs, but not all dogs love him back. He is a bit "in your face" when he greats other dogs and some do not appreciate this. He also has a major obsession with little dogs. I'm talking MAJOR obsession. I'm not sure what the deal is...he stalks them. I can't tell if he is confused and thinks they are prey or if he just really wants to play with them!

Millie love all dogs, big, small, Great Dane, Chihuahua, whatever. She gets along with all dogs very well. She is a more timid greater, but give her a couple minutes and she is best friends with anyone.

Also, like others said, both Henry and Millie seem to recognize poodles and get along with them best. It is so strange!

 

Nickel likes dogs that are about the same size or a bit bigger. His best friends include 2 PWDs and a labradoodle. Before he got neutered, he always "got interested" in poodles/poodle mix. He set his eyes on a gorgeous red toy poodle girl and 2 cockapoos.

 

Romeo loves, loves, loves other standards and both Romeo and Brandy love little dogs. My three are a thight little group and prefer to play together at the park. Rome is especially protective over my havanese. If other dogs try to play with Bugsy, Romeo gets in between the two and brakes it up. It's too cute.

 

Penny loves to play so luch she would play with a squirrel if it would just stick around. She doesn't seem to notice a difference between biiger or smaller dogs anymore.

 

Vasco doesn't seem to have a preference, except size-wise. He's happy to play with anyone his size, but gets a bit pre-emptively snappy with big dogs that are physical. He plays regularly with a couple of JRTs, a couple of cockers, a Border Terrier, a Bichon.

We were out hiking on Sunday and came across a couple hiking with their two dogs, a Yorkshire Terrier and an Irish Wolfhound. I have never seen Vasco's eyes so big! The dog's head was as big as Vasco's whole body.

 

Jake, so far, seems to like all other dogs... as long as they don't bark. In his mind, he is allowed to bark and growl, but if the other dog does, that's the end of playtime and he high-tails it back to mom.

He LOVES my friends Maltese. He loves my jack russell. He loves my mother-in-law's beagles. When we are around other dogs, he seems to gravitate towards bigger dogs and littler dogs. I'm not sure why he likes the bigger dogs, but I think he likes the smaller dogs because he can bully them around. :rolffleyes::redface:

We haven't really met many poodles yet (although he has met a few poodle mixes- he's ambivalent about them, mostly), so I don't know if he would prefer poodles. I am planning to start him in daycare a few days a week soon, so he gets plenty of time to socialize and wear himself out.

 

My poodles are snobby I guess. They will interact with other breeds but NOT if there is another poodle (any size) around. lol. So I guess they like other poo's best, and even better if they can be spoos

 

I do wonder if they recognise other poodles. My mini is utterly fascinated with my obedience trainer's standard. She is far too elegant to actually condescend to speak to him though, and will look down her long nose at him and do a micro-lip curl .... "get away, you filthy BOY". He still tries, though! :smile:

 

My Standard Eli used to love playing with most all breeds but lately he gets very grumpy with even female dogs. He's definatly always prefered Spoo's but I dont have any spoo's to do play dates with He does like to play with our other dogs which include a senior Pit Bull, 4 yr old Rat Terrier and a 4 month old Amstaff pup.

Tried to let him play with our new neighbors 6 month old female Lab and he dominated her with in seconds and got all grumpy! Dam grumpy Poodle! lol

 

I think it'll be hard to get a CGC on Vegas because of how friendly he is with other dogs.. He sees another dog and it goes from "I'm a happy poodle standing by you" to "OMG! DOG! OVER THERE! MOM! *spazzing tail wag that vibrates whole body* THERE IS A DOG OVER THERE! CAN I RUB MY FACE ALL OVER IT? PLEASE? PLEASE?!"

 

I love this question! Zero is one of those spoos who LOVES everyone - but she definitely has a preference for blonde boys - labs and retrievers especially. Her best friend is the neighbor's red jack russell/schiperke cross, but she will always gravitate towards the blondes. The only breed I have seen her avoid is great dane - but I really think that is only because the 2 she has met were both very submissive/aggressive. Which was weird for me also as I have had 2 great danes and both were fabulous dogs. Any way, she likes small dogs too, but is very...enthusiastic in her play, so they are not always fond of her.
