You guessed it. This thread is for the cream, apricot and sable poodles. So dig out those pictures and post them here, regardless of size, shape or pedigree. :)

Cream / Apricot

Sunny's CKC registration states the "colour is apricot" ---- although I refer to him a cream. I also included a photo I received before I even saw Sunny, of his "brother" on the cover of a magazine -- it shows the color better.

There is a fine line between cream and apricot. Creams turn mostly milky white as adults with orange sometimes left on the ears and between the shoulders. They can range from a brownish/tan white to a milk white to an orange white. Creams can sometimes have darker shades or spots in their coats. A true apricot should be nonfading as they get older.

I was sure my cream would get whiter, but instead she started getting darker, more like her pics as a little puppy where she looked orange. Mine is not a full apricot like a few dogs on the board, but closer to apricot than cream. She is just starting coat change, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the next 6 months. She has an apricot standard line on her dams side.

Beautiful Darby is for sure a pretty cream rather than an apricot. White is a brighter, clear color. My spoo Clara was pure white (her pics are in the white thread).

Aren't poodle colors fun!

Here is Sookie at 9 weeks and now. She looks almost completely white now! She has a bit of cream in her ears on the ends. She is registered as cream. Then Nina in her puppy clip with lots of colour in her ears. Then now. She is way lighter but more cream than Sookie.

These pics are of my second spoo Sport (ok so a few have Betty Jo or Jenny in them too). He was a wonderful gentleman of a dog. So very sweet. I still miss him.

Meet Chili! He is my dog Bonnie's cousin. My SIL and BIL loved Bonnie so much they decided they needed a poodle, too, but Bonnie was a bit big for them. He is 4 months old now and is a Moyen poodle (top out at 17-19 inches). He is a real sweety and looks like Bonnie's mini-me.
Check out those toe nails! His black toenails are the first thing I noticed when they brought him home. :)

Here's some snapshots of Leroy growing up. Last photo is the most recent, however I just shaved his beard into a french mustache (gotta get those pics up soon).

I am always amazed at the different responses dogs have to cats. Sunny could care less -- the breeder says the dogs live with cats, too, and she has one particular older cat that lets the little poodles crawl all over her, etc., and it is Cat Socialization 101! If I wasn't so allergic to them (on a 1 to 10, I am a 20!) it could be nice company for Sunny. I love all the poodle "colors".......... now that I have a scanner, I may dig up some of the early pup pics of Jake who was black, but who came from a black and brown parents, and kept his color a deep black brown.

I've seen this cat wiggle it's way out from under a Puppy Pile-On too. lol It's the prime socializer of any little ones in this pen . . and outside in the yard. There's a good chance that the dam got used to Gizmo when she was pup herself. :)

It wouldn't surprise me that most breeders have a cat around the house. It's great socialization for any pups. :)
