Very strange dog behavior (I think). Jackson (my new standard foster) loves Hoot, my Aussie. He does anything Hoot does and goes wherever he goes. I often see him licking Hoot all over his face and head.

I noticed Hoot peeing on Jacson's head the other day and it dawned on me why he stinks so soon after a bath. At first I thought it may be a dominance issue on Hoot's part but since I have observed Hoot intently sniffing a spot and then lifting his leg to mark. Jackson scoots right under the stream. I think he's checking out the interesting spot but you'd think he would avoid Hoot's stream. It doesn't bother him at all to have a head full of wet pee-filled poodlefur. Someone suggested he might like having Hoot's smell as Hoot is very confident and unafraid and is the dominant dog of our pack (yes I'm more dominant but I'm not a dog).

So much for foo-foo poodles!

Ew, I wonder how you fix that? Probably going to have to make sure that Jackson becomes a more confident dog by separating him from his pack and doing some things to build his confidence. I've never seen that behavior but male dog urine is an awful smell.

lol, I've seen this faaar too much! It's more the fact that the dogs follow each other around, one sniffs a good spot, the other comes along to check it out too, except the first one has already worked it out and is gonna leave his message, the second dog is still checking out the smell though.... It's not that he's purposely putting his head under the stream, it's just he's trying to sniff while the other is trying to pee! Paris has pooped on my mums dog before cos it was already falling when she stuck her head under to sniff the spot...! LOL

I have never seen that happen before.LOL I remember when we had Jasper, Harry wouldn't pee if Jasper was around him. Thank goodness because the puppy wouldn't leave him alone and he would have been peed on a lot.

Can you find a dog-trainer in your are and ask if he would know what to make out of that ???

Matrix does this with Mitchell all the time. Luckily they're always onleash so I can catch it and stop it before it happens, but when we first got Mitch, Matrix was a tinkle head a couple times.

I've seen billy goats pee on nanny goats , I believe its when the nanny is in heat or about to come into heat. Talk about stink, I don't think that there are too many things that smell worse then a billy goat. Heck, I've even seen billy goats pee into their own mouths, UGH.

My last 2 dogs would do that but they did miss peeing on each other. It was funny -my little one that was about 45 lbs smaller was the leader and then my standard would follow suit. Especially when we were camping or away from home when both were being walked together for potty breaks. I'm so glad they didn't hit each other!

I believe that jester's mom's dog was peed on a time or two by going to sniff a spot that was already chosen by another. We laughed about it but I am sure it is a really irritating problem to have when it happens consistently. I have no idea what you can do to stop it other than to have them on leash as mentioned above and be able to pull him out of the way. I really don't believe that this would be done intentionally. I hope that someone has some good advice for you to help you out.

Who would guess LOL - not a rare problem after all ! People have dogs peeing on their heads while they sleep and also dogs peeing like one pictured above.

Now - for the dog peeing on another dog the only solution mentioned over and over is to have both dogs or one leashed and control the behavior with correction. You are supposed to train them to "take turns" for the same spot or to do it on different spots and reward after that is done. Leash is used to pull second dog and let first one do his job fist.

Thanks. I have been using Nature's Miracle to keep the odor down between baths. Jackson would be the logical one to restrain as it's really his fault.

That does work, I have used it when we first got Olie he had a few accidents.
