I think Mercury's Mom brought up a similar post about a breeder near her. I was looking at breeder site and was really turned off by the contract. For starters you are required to follow a certain vaccine protocol. I agree w/ the protocol, but the law doesn't. In TX rabies are required at least every 3 years, but my city/county requires them yearly. I don't do other vaccines every year, but I personally prefer to follow the law. What if, heaven forbid, one of my dogs bit for whatever reason? I don't want them quarintined, nor do I want anyone to go through unneccessary rabies treatment. Another point that bugged me was the fact that the puppies have to be groomed by a professional groomer every 3-6 weeks. I feel I'm capable of doing all or at least most of the grooming myself. I do have a pro in the family that is moving back and another who is amazing at poodle grooming in mind. Many groomers, however, require UTD vaccines. Many obedience classes require proof of vaccination along w/ certain dog events. What if I need to board my dog for whatever reason, kennels require vaccines? I see nothing wrong w/ strongly suggesting a puppy buyer follow a particular vaccine or grooming protocol, but including those things in the contract and voiding the health guarantee if they aren't followed just seems over the top.
