Our mini is on the large size of the spectrum, which is why the breeder felt he'd be a good match for us and our two little boys. I'm trying to get prepared to bring him home, and am looking at martingale collars. Does it matter how wide it is, is that personal choice or is it vital to get a certain width? I've never used a martingale for training before, I'm used to more traditional choke collars or a nylon slip type leash/collar combo.
Most martingales now are adjustable. Is your mini full grown now? Have the breeder measure him at the widest part of his head - that will tell you the biggest it needs to be.
He's 8 months, so I think he's almost full grown, but not quite. I will ask her to measure his head when I talk to her again. Thanks!
