I’m looking into getting a brown poodle or a brown parti poodle! What are your favorite colors?

There are chocolate Labradors but poodles are brown, I love poodles in the brown spectrum brown, cafe au lait and silver beige

Oops! I completely forgot they were called brown and not chocolate - I’ve grown up so try retrievers haha

I like parti. After losing my parti pair and starting over with a pair of dark dogs, I really miss the visibility of white spots at night. I carefully do the stingray shuffle when I walk to the bathroom at night to avoid tripping over a dog.

For a multi-colored Poodle, I absolutely love phantoms. For a solid colored Poodle, my favorites are red and brown.

Goodness it’s so hard to decide really. I think they are all absolutely beautiful. I would love to have a white poodle someday. When I brought home my guy Magnus he was solid black but he seems to be fading to blue. He is a handsome boy as black but I’m sure he will be just as good looking as he fades. Poodles are just regal/elegant like that….

I initially wanted a red, but then realized how hard it is to get a red toy from a good breeder. Sophie's breeder told me that she doesn't breed reds because she's had bad luck finding one that meets the health testing. My infatuation with red has waned a little and I think my favorite colors are brown and cafe au lait. Sophie is a blue. I contemplated getting a silver boy and I also like silver. Honestly, I basically love all dogs and I would have been happy with any color except for white. I don't really love white because it would be so hard to keep the eyes looking nice (IMO).

I have a slightly different preference I prefer black points and faces where I can see their eyes. But if given any poodle, I will love regardless 😍

Asta is a "bad black" He has some white hairs scattered in his coat. from his dam who is parti. I really wanted parti but his litter was all black. Sire was black. All said I am in love with my boy regardless of his color, bad or not. So I guess my preference would be parti or inky black.

On Sammy's akc paperwork, he is a white poodle. His ears retained a slight cream color for 3 years, so I think he is technically a cream. Regardless, he is beautiful. I like being able to see him in the dark. I do not like how hard it is to keep him looking clean.

I say this as an owner of a parti poodle, but I've become increasingly partial to solids. I think it's because 99% of partis are not well bred (I'm glad Mia can't read), and probably in part because you always want what you don't have.

Anyway, OP, more important than color is health testing, temperament testing (suitability), and early exposure and good puppy rearing. In other words, the breeder is everything.

Elroy (Black) is my first dog. I love the black! I especially love that he still looks great even when he's somewhat dirty! He's never got a mat so far either. Not sure if this is a color related feature, or if he's just got an easy coat, or if I'm just good at maintainance. Either way, black is good fo me!
