We've both been to the vet! Poppy

I was very poorly being sick in the night and didn't want to get out of bed this morning and Mum only gave me a teeny, tiny breakfast and it was raining and everything was horrible! I heard Mum on the phone to the vet, and she was very kind snuggling me all morning and taking me in and out and then I did a proper poo and suddenly felt much, much better. But Mum said it was too late to cancel and she wanted to talk to the vet about my tummy problems, but she had to see the special vet about her knee first, and we drove there, and waited for ages in the car, and then drove for ages to get to our vet, and we were late and I hoped he might have gone home, but he hadn't and he did horrible things to me, and said I seemed fine and Mum was doing all the right things, and then I had some biscuits at the counter, so that was all right.

But do you know what Mum's special vet told her to do? Put food from the freezer on her knee! Not even eat it, but put bags of stuff all over herself!! And she says it is going to be ages before we can have proper walks with her, so she is asking someone else to take us, and I don't really like walks with anyone else. But this evening we played The Game, hunting treats all round the sitting room, because it has been too wet to go out much - perhaps we can just have lots and lots of lovely games instead!

[Would you believe the straight forward route between physio and vet was closed by an accident, and I had to take a massive detour - I was embarassingly late, and Poppy was embarassingly miraculously recovered! fjm]

Oh good I'm glad you saw physio! And the vet. I agree, traffic delays are so annoying

Poppy - It is good that you and Mom each went to your vets. Sounds like happy barking to me - your friend, Asta.

Dear Poppy,

My male recommends ice or bags of peas (Yuck!) from the freezer for sore places. I don’t have any sore places now, and wouldn’t like that RX. I once had a sprain on my front leg and had to be on restricted activity for 10 days. That was horrible but they didn’t use peas on me. You are very brave.

Your pal,

Buck

Well, I must say Mum's lap feels very funny when it is all nobbly with bags of peas, but she says it is helping her knee and that she should have done it weeks ago. I am feeling fizzy and springy and happy again - I woke up all bouncy which is the way it should be, boinging over the bed and helping dig Mum out from under the duvet so she can do her stretching exercises. Yesterday I just wanted to stay under he covers and not move!

It's another horrible wet day here, so Mum has promised to get all the games out and pretend we are playing Brain Games - we know they are really treat games!

Glad to hear that you are both feeling better. Icing will help that knee some and I am glad it is not so bad that it needs replacing. However I am so glad I had my knee done when I did.
