I wil be purchasing a piece of exercise equipment. There are 2 variations. One requires the fairly frequent us eof wd40 silicone spray, wiped on a rag and applied and the other does not. I was told that animals are not attracted to it but according to the label, it is toxic if ingested.
As I mentioned, I would bot be spraying it on and the can and rag would stay in the garage, when not in use. Would you use this product if you had a dog?

Where is the wd40 going to be on the exercise equipment? I think that I probably would use the WD40. Although it depends on if you would allow your dog to lick the equipment right after you put on the WD40. My poodle is not attracted to it, so I do not have to worry about it.

I don’t think animals are attracted to it but that doesn’t mean that a drop couldn’t get on the floor and the dog wouldn’t lick it anyway. I guess it’s a remote possibility but still a possibility. It is toxi, though, if ingested.

I think you would just need to be careful, perhaps holding the rag under where your applying the wd40 and then wiping it in well. I don't think that would attract the dog to and would mostly be wiped off the outside.
