He turns 5 months in a couple of weeks. Sometimes I get frustrated with his rambunctious puppy energy but I know he's just a puppy with a puppy brain lol

So this is the current situation. It's not pretty. Haha
It's not even and I didn't touch the top of the ear as it was matt free..and it gives the groomer more to work with so she can even it up. But at least he's matt free.

One great thing about poodle coats is how forgiving they are. It all grows back so fast. I had to give Bennie a good shave down one month ago. The ears seem to take longer to go from shaved right down to full again, but I think when coat change is happening, having a short cut is helpful anyhow.

It grows soooo FAST. Way too fast lol.

I didn't expect those matts. I do brush the ears but I didn't notice they were so deep against the skin. And because they were against the skin..I didn't really try to get them out(they looked mighty) because I believe it would be painful for the dog. He still has a layer of hair on the ears..even though it looks like he doesn't. That said..I'm not really attached to the coat..I want him to feel good. His floppy ears look cute tho. I just hope his ears aren't cold because it's been super cold here.

We did have the groomer clip him down to a quarter of an inch in October and he stopped panting(he seems to run hot) so he definitely feels better in shorter length..even though they look so cute fluffy.

He will be clipped down again in about a week so that will help.

I need to buy a new conditioner and keratin spray because I bought Chi for Dogs and I like how soft his coat feels butttt it has a strong fragrance and my dog gets a whiff and backs away.

So my pup enjoys elevation. Is this a Poodle trait?

He also really like to eat snow. Sigh.
I always have a light on him as we have a community of cayotes in the area.
My dog really likes other dogs but within the yard..he seems more territorial so I don't believe he would get lured by a cayote. That said..you can never be too sure and white light acts like a deterrent.

Ah what you're describing about the matting and brushing over them initially is super common, I think. I did the same. I shaved Bennie's ears right down in the summer for comfort and they were super cute.

And yes to limiting fragrance.... I remember reading somewhere that their sense of smell is like 800 times stronger than ours. So I can imagine the intensity of some grooming products is that much more intense! Myself, I am sensitive to fragrance too.

Just found the most beautiful collar on Etsy..but justifying the price is another story lol.

Its leather and norse style. Im slavic and Im very fascinated by Slavic and Norse history.

There are various styles and you choose the colors of the leather. Super stunning and I know it would suit my Leo as he is starting to show a more regal side lol..at least thats what I tell myself hahaKing of the Norse Collar 1.25 Inch - Etsy Canada

Earthquake here yesterday..woke up to what I thought was rumbling from a jet flying over the home. First earthquake I have ever experienced.
Pup started barking like crazy..experienced his first earthquake too.

God bless Turkey and Syria because that earthquake was astronomical.

Yikes! Was it scary or just like... "Huh? What's going on?"
I've felt a slight tremor once (in CT).

Not scary at all.I woke up to what felt like vibration outside the home and I thought it was an army jet(no idea why I thought that)flying low but then the pup started barking like crazy. I wasn't aware we had one until I heard it on the news and I just thought to myself " ohhh that's why Leo was barking like crazy".

Im happy with the body..this will help with matts during coat change.
The face...well I wish the muzzle was a bit shorter and tighter around the lip area. I gave her pics for reference and meh lol
The asian fusion has a very vert short and tight chin area and she left too much there and she took a little too much off the top of the head and near the side of the eyes which makes the muzzle look a little too big. Its fine though..Ill touch
