He turns 5 months in a couple of weeks. Sometimes I get frustrated with his rambunctious puppy energy but I know he's just a puppy with a puppy brain lol

I don't believe you've ever mentioned his name. He's such a good looking boy!

Thank you!

His name is Leo. He's a very confident boy so I found the name to be fitting.
Well Heeelloo Leo! Coincidentally, Leo is my Dad's and my brother's name

Here he is making himself comfy on his chair of choice which also happens to be the fav chair of our bengal cat lol. He sometimes gets on the couch and sits there calmly like he's a human being.
Here he is ..sitting and giving the look that says
" why is nobody paying attention to me and when do we get to play Fetch". Stern expression. He loves his fetch. View attachment 502247
This picture tells a story 😍! Love it!

Don't get me wrong..inside he's pretty good at listening to commands and I practice them everywhere..on walks etc.
But when he's finally PLAYING..seesh.

And he not the sensitive type either so training is trickier
He basically thinks everything is a game right now. He's 10 months.

He is a solid " boys boy" but he loves to kiss everyone. Also..a solid alert barker and is very aware of who is near the property.
He sounds a lot like my Elroy was 😍!

I really like how friendly he is. He will greet every guest that arrives like an old friend.

But at the same time..he's a great watch dog. If you are that friend outside the home close to the property..he will alert bark to let us know and will get pretty vocal.

So he has a good balance of being friendly but also being a watch dog.

One time we had a winter storm and my father was coming from the shed and it was hard to see him from the back door...so my poodle started barking like crazy and launched himself at the glass. He then realized it was my father and calmed down.

He also barks at the landscaping people(when they are outside) and does a low growl. But as soon as you step inside the home and he realizes you are welcome..he will give you kisses.

It's pretty cool.

He doesn't take kindly to trespassers but he's very context aware.
Yep! Elroy's the same way😍! He has rugged, mean sounding bark, but once you come inside he'll kiss you to death 🤣!

What grooming combs & brushes do you have? I brush (and comb) Elroy's long parts (TK, Ears and Tail) almost every day. The CC slicker (Big G, Large) works great, and I love the wide spaced, long tined All Systems comb.

Earthquake here yesterday..woke up to what I thought was rumbling from a jet flying over the home. First earthquake I have ever experienced.
Pup started barking like crazy..experienced his first earthquake too.

God bless Turkey and Syria because that earthquake was astronomical.
Yikes! Was it scary or just like... "Huh? What's going on?"
I've felt a slight tremor once (in CT).

His way to get attention is by going into a room he shouldn’t be in and stealing something. Then he prances around and says “ catch me if you can”.
Sounds familiar! This must just be a part of a poodles temperament 🤣!

I don’t think I’m going to neuter my boy.
The more I read the more the cons outweighs the pros for male dogs. He’s scheduled for November.
We don’t do dog parks as we have a yard and I’m not irresponsible or inattentive.
His obedience despite his age is coming along well.
I came to the same conclusion. If I wasn't obligated to my breeder to neuter, Elroy wouldn't even have gotten the vasectomy. For hormonal purposes, he's intact. He's 26 months now and hasn't been any trouble at all (hoping it stays this way). I do let him freely hump his special pillow whenever he wants. He usually wants to about every other day.
