Is the same as the original red right? Is there a huge difference in the new Andis 2-speed Ultra-Edge?

I was told by a gentleman that sells and sharpens scisssors and clipper blades, that the only difference that he sees in the two is that a lot of people claim that the original red clippers are a little easier to hold in your hand. I really don't know. I do have the red ones and like them a lot.

I just ordered the Ultra Edge (blue), and I think the cord is longer. I didn't notice any other differences.

Wow I didn't know anyone responded to this. Good to know about the differences. I want the purple one but I think the red one is cheaper. It's the classic one I see all the groomers using.

the purple and black and the green and black are supposed to have a grippy thing on them to make them easier to hold( its almost rubbery) but when you are grooming hair gets on it and makes them more slippery.
its wierd go for the red ones, they are great

I have the blue one, but my favorite is the KM-2 by Wahl, lighter body weight and lasts forever.

The lower speed stays cooler longer. So good if you do lots of faces in a day, such as puppy grooming time.

Yeah I had a Switchblade that would heat up in about 5 mins of use. I also didn't like the size of it for my hands. I have small hands and didn't feel as in control of the clipper as I wanted.

Andis Super 2/AGC-2

I ordered the Andis AGC-2 speed (dark red in color) to trim my Standard Poodle I who just rescued recently. Just clippered him the first time yesterday and these clippers could hardly go through his dense curly hair. I brushed him first, like I read I should do, but still had a difficult time. I didn't want t shave him too short so I used a 3 3/4 blade and a 7FC. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Did you dry the hair as straight as possible and comb through every inch of fur after you brushed it? Curls and knots will make a longer blade seem to bog down if it's trying to cut through them.

His hair was dry but still very curly. If I want to cut thru dry curls what blade should I use? Thanks

You may have to go as short as a 7 blade to get through the curls. I would start with a longer blade and see how far you get, then go one blade shorter and see how that goes through.
