2156 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Raena
So i found someone who grooms and showed poodles and she was kind enough to show me a few things, and then i went and finished her at work, it is still rough, please feel free to tear it apart!! Thanks in advance!

P.S. any suggestions on teaching her to stack (in other words, teaching me to stack... :) )

well i can't critique the grooming (other then teh back looks to have too much hair?)

but did you know there's a hole on the dogs leg ??? :p

stacking- good website here to teach you and dog how- http://www.dragonflyllama.com/ DOGS/Writing/confstack.html
The only big thing I see is that the back is too rounded. It looks more like the topline of a Bedlington terrier. My mentor would have said to give her more chest, but I always shorten Flash's chest up too, so it's a matter of personal preference I guess.
Looks great, though. Very nice groom job. Getting shapes down is really, really, hard (i'm struggling with it too) but your scissorwork is very smooth and she has a nice pretty finish. The legs are even, everything appears to be symmetrical, all in all I'd say you've done a fantastic job. :)
i was wondering about her back, but where do i stop trimming i was worried abt trimming too far forward...

I consider the back to start just behind the withers. You want to use the withers to blend the neck in smoothly with the back, and everything behind the shoulder should be level.
ok.. that makes since! Thanks!! ill see if i have time to fix it tomorrow and post new pics
