I did a search and couldn't find anything about this specifically...

Should one have their non-breeding dog tested, of both parents were tested? Just wondering.

I'm guessing that having the hips OFA'd would be good if I decide to get into agility. Gentry is pretty big. I should measure him...

Testing a pet dog is not necessary unless you suspect a problem. However, if you are willing to spend the money if can be good information for both you and the breeder.

I would check the hips at a ge two prior to doing anything strenuous with your dog. Just good to know. Not necessarily to OFA but go to a vet that know what hips look like and can give you a reading. Perhaps the breeders vet can help you ?
