I have been try to be consistant with Teddy and his training. He is sooo stubborn that he is wearing me out! I put him in stay and go sit down at the computer - if I talk to Ginger who is next to me, off he comes and I have to put him back again! ha ha - like a toddler. Ginger has not finished her food yet - she is very very slow - and Teddy wants it - he wants it bad! so far I have gotten up seven times in less than 5 minutes. I just put him in the crate. whew! He has such a strong will! I wish the heck Ginger would finish her darn food! :moneymouth:

Why don't you just give Teddy dinner in his crate and have Ginger eat where she likes. Since Ginger is a slow eater she can eat, you relax and Teddy can have crate time for awile. Don't feel bad about giving him crate time. Thats the only way I stay sane with my dogs and kids. Im only 26 but 3 dogs and 2 young kids wear me down by noon. lol

Im sure you are trying to get things were you can handle Teddy better but just a suggestion. You come first, then the dogs! I know I forget that sometimes too. lol

This reminds me of a dog we had that learned to open crates to get at the dog inside. She was a riot, I really miss her, although I don't miss the crate thing. We had another dog at the time who would eat all but a mouth full of her food and then when the other dog's came out of their kennels she would want to stay in hers and gaurd her one mouthful of food left. LoL, Pia learned to lift the latch on the crate door to get a sugar and steal her last little bit of dinner :) LoL

I would definately use the crate. Put him in there first, as it is not punishment for him, it is just the way things are at mealtimes and any other time you want a break. It is you first, dogs second - the dogs won't be any happier without you if you burn yourself out so your needs have to come first

that' a good idea - using the crate - he likes his crate too - he associates it with a treat since when I go out he has to go in and I give him a bisquit. If you could see him and Cassie (the chubby mini) waiting to get at Ginger's leftovers! Last nite I finally threw it away - it was only a tablespoon and she didnt' want it.
