I PM'd Yung several days ago about this, but the problems remains.

When using a desktop or laptop, if you click on the site without logging in, and then click on one of the forums, the topics are dated back to late March.

If you use a cell phone, however, all the forums and posts are current.

I've had friends from different areas try this and they found the same problem. This means visitors w/o accounts are able to access only old threads.

Btw, my cache and cookies are cleared when I do this.

I usually am on my desktop, a mac..I have no problem seeing any posts new or old. Of course if I'm signed in its easier as I can just hit "new posts". If not signed in I have to sort thru individuals threads. I never sign in on my iPhone but can see the same as on my mac.

Hi Mufar, I don't stay signed into any site when I exit it, nor do I necessarily want to sign it to see what's new.

Yung, the forums continue to show threads only up thru March. The configuration is still faulty, i.e. people have to have an account to sign in and see the current posts if they are using a desktop/laptop.

Current threads still not showing when not logged in

This problem has never been corrected. If I wasn't clear enough before, the front page of the forum is always current on a desktop or laptop, but when you click on a forum, i.e. Poodle Pictures, the threads that show are a month old. Currently when I click on Poodle Pictures the last Photo Contest I see is from late April and we're into the May contest. Same for Poodle Talk; only late April threads show when I click that section.

This occurs even when the cache and cookies are cleared.

This means new visitors, non-members, and members who don't feel like logging in and are using a lap or desktop are viewing old threads beyond whatever shows on the front page of the site.

To whoever is handling Tech, i.e. Yung if you are around, can you please log out, clear your cookies and cache, or have a friend whose never logged into PF try this and find out or explain what the trouble is?

Tech support, screenshots were taken this morning between 7:04 and 7:06 AM EST to illustrate the problem I discussed yesterday:

Screenshot 1 @ 7:04 am - Site entry page: the threads showing are current

*******************

Screenshot 2 - Clicked on Poodle Pictures: The posts say today, but they are not. The Gilda thread by Arreau, for example, is from 4/19/19. The Photo Contest subforum and other two photo subforums are from April, not May.

*******************

Screenshot 3 - When I click on the Poodle Pictures. It shows the most recent thread is from Arreau on 4-24-19, not this morning (5-19-19 @ 7:06am).

*******************

So these are the 'old thread' problems I see when not logged in, cookies and cache cleared - and what a couple of my friends see when they click on the site from different locations using different cable companies. It only affects desktops and laptops, not cell phones. Since it's not just my computer, the problem needs to be addressed. It's been going on at least since late March and I first posted about this in early April on this thread.

Please troubleshoot.

You can click on "new posts" on the top line to get current posts. If you are not logged in or don't have an account it will say "today's posts".

Thanks, Reraven, HOWEVER there's still a problem here that didn't exist until March 2019. I clicked on "Today's Posts" and it pulled up all current posts but these are mixed up from all forums and subforums and threads show in the order of most recent threads that members commented on.

If I only want to see current threads, for example from Poodle Pictures or PF Monthly Photo Contests or Poodle Talk, even if I click on that section it shows the old threads.

If while in one of those sections, i.e. Poodle Grooming, and then click on "Today's Posts", it takes me back to mixed up posts from various subforums from all the sections. There are some section that I am rarely interested in, or the opposite where I only want to see a week's worth of comments in on section.

If this was the intent, it's a strange way to configure a forum where you can't do both: see all "Today's Posts" OR click on a forum/subforum and see only the content of those threads in the order of the last comments. This problem does not occur on the other Pet Guide/Vertical Scope forum, GoldenRetrieverForum.com.

I vaguely recall PF was having problems back in March and whoever re-configured it then did not catch the problem. Ideally it still should be corrected to make navigation simpler.

When I access PF on my Kindle I am not logged in, so use the "today's posts" button. Just checked again, and it does list posts in chronological order of when they were posted to the list, and it shows posts I have not read in bold type. If I click on a subforum, posts from that subforum are also correctly listed in chronological order. It looks like PF works differently depending on what device you are using, it appears to be working the way it is supposed to on my Kindle.

Yes Reraven, I agree! This should be helpful to their IT team as we can rule out cell phones and now Kindle having a problem.

I just hope they tweak their configuration so that desktop and laptops go back to normal (pre-March) navigation that works well for all platforms.

Asta's Mom, when you tried this, are you logged out of PF with your cache and cookies cleared? I clear everything daily and run a scan.

I use Windows 7, my daughter uses Windows 10 laptop and lives away with a different internet provider, and when I had her test it, she sees what I see - old threads when she clicked on Poodle Talk, Poodle Pictures, etc to see the chronological order of threads in those sections.

Asta's Mom & PF Tech: I have Windows 7, two other friends at different locations have Windows 7 and 10.

Hello there,

The next time this occurs, can you grab the full URL of that redirect?
We'll have to get that sent up to the techs and have them block it.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Ed

Sheriff, I see you responded to Asta's Mom today. Are you or another tech person looking into my tech problem or have you or Yung put in a ticket? I uploaded the photos showing it on Post 5. I would like a response. Thanks.

I am having the same problem -- on my phone I can see new posts, but on the computer (Windows 10) they are from weeks ago in some cases. I made a post the other day, and can't access it on the desktop!

With regards to threads not updating when you're logged out. We recently added Cloudflare to the site to provide an optimum experience for users for both site speed and security. This programme prioritizes users who are logged in first so visitors to the site won't see the most up to date content. I'd say that's what's going on here.
