I want to get her a fab collar and leash set. I know we've had extensive threads about our favorites, but I was just wondering if a few of you might indulge me with what you'd suggest for a special b-day gift (yeah, I know, it's more for me than her. LOL. Don't worry, she's also getting a new bed).

Someone recommended this place to me, and there are no collar prices currently on the site, but after seeing the horse prices I'm thinking it might be a weee bit too much. Sharing anyhow, though, just for the collar fanatics:

I'm not sure if I want a regular collar or martingale. Right now she just wears a regular hemp collar to hold her tags and hook the leash to, when we go out.

Thank you. I can't believe our baby is going to be one soon!

You should have fun with those for now. :D Personally, i prefer a leather leash no matter what collar i have (unless obviously we will be in the water for mud). I have a few favorite broken in leashes that i use mostly. Collars, i depends on where were going, what time of year, and how i feel!

and skinny heads that 99% of collars slip right over!
I thought some preferred this type of collar for poodles, too, right?

Thank you everyone! I'm scouring away.

Her other set, which I forgot about because she ATE through the leash, I did get from etsy. I do like it but tend not to use the collar since now it doesn't have a matching leash anyway. :eek:hwell: I had her "tied" (like looped) to our porch bench while we were RIGHT there playing with the kids and in record speed she gnawed right through it before we even saw it happening! So no more woven cotton leashes! And, BTW, it is THICK.

I wasn't totally sure, but after looking at the people on horses site I was thinking leather ridiculously-blinged, but is that harder on her neck hair? She's not a "show poodle," but I don't want anything grabbing and ripping it. Maybe we will at least do a fancy leather leash.

Though I am loving the brown/pink eco-collar on the trixie site, too! Oh decisions!

Dogsinstyle on here makes the most glorious collars and leads. If you pm her, I am sure she will send you as link to her web site. Phenomenal stuff.
OMG! I found it: http://www.dogsinstyle.com/

I spent last night interrupting Dh on his Farmville :)rolffleyes:) to Dh "look, what do you think of this collar?" LOL. We'd narrowed it down, but I think he's got another evening ahead of him with this site! Ooh, better yet, emails at work. ;)

thanks!

As long as its not string thin, ripped or worn in any way. I have found that my thin 3/8" (i think, im horrible with numbers, a little bigger then 1/4") leather leash is pefectly fine for walking at the park. It has held my 70lb poodle lunging after a squirral Many times, and a friends freight train on a leash boxer! I like the grip i get on leather over nylon, but i never just "hold" the leash in my hand. I always on walks put my hand through the loop and then hold on to the leash (which is why i prefer full braided or at least the ends braided).
