What do you have now that's not working for you so we get an idea?

Do you need the reach of 200+? or are you looking for a good carry lens for the shows or what exactly?

Well I have the sigma 105mm macro , I used this for my aquarium . I got the camera with a standard lens 28-80mm. Those are only two lenses I have. I did have a tamron 75-300mm ? I forgot what exactly but it was crap on the digital. I gave that to my dad lol I still don't know why he wanted it.

I want to use lens for conformation but would like to do some schutzhund , agility etc..

I don't think you need 300 that's for darn sure.

I would go for this one myself: canon 55-250 IS talk about versatile!! Is it an L lens ?

That's a really good price for that lens. If it were a f2.8, you wouldn't even be looking at it. I need the 70-200 f2.8 IS L series for my Canon for wedding work and it is going for something like $1,600 right now. Whoeee!

I have the Nikon 70-200/2.8 and LOVE it. I know you are a Canon girl , so you would need a Canon lens.

Just a thought - fast lenses are great (2.8), however, even with the 2.8 I still find myself trying NOT go go larger than f4 - once your DOF gets too shallow, you can have difficulty getting action shots and still have ideal focus. f4 (for me) seems to work really well. So don't rule out those lenses that are not 2.8. Hope that makes sense!
