Teddy is soooo gassy lately that he is really - phew! wow! Any advice will be very helpful! Not feeding him anything different - he gets about 1/3 cup pedigree chopped canned food mixed with 1 1/2 cups dry - Iams mini chunks - tried plain yogurt - helps some - have you ever heard of using pumpkin? :shot:

Ive been told to feed them charcol (sp) dog bones. My dogs really like them and it really helps the gass.
I have heard many people that give their poodles pumpkin.
thanks you guys - will try both!
A vet told me once that by elevating the food it decreases the amount of air and therefore helping with gas. Not sure if you already elevate. :)

That's interesting. We never elevated Sam's bowls until this summer when he had some mysterious illness and he couldn't seem to get his head down to his food bowl. Since it has been elevated he has had almost no gas, he used to be TERRIBLE! He has chase us out of the room many times. Never put 2 and 2together, but maybe that's why he is better.
The food your feeding him would give me gas too :pound:

charcoal is great for it
I wouldn't feed Pedigree, it's a very poor quality food (please don't be offended :) ) in fact worse than a lot of other generics.

I would look into a healthier diet without by-products and grains. By-products are not meat, they are things like beaks and feathers and skin and bones. The protein comes from the grain. The meaty smell and color is from colorants and additives. Pedigree has heavy grain content.
Well, pedigree isn't my pick of food either but even the premium dog food's give gas. I feed all mine Healthwise and they have gas off and on. Its considered a quality dog food but yep they still get gassy. Thats my only complaint if I had to think of one, I can live with it though. lol
I have to find out what I can get locally - I am so surprised about the quality of the food I am giving my babies! What a horror! I have never even heard of the dog foods you all have mentioned on here. There is a special pet food store about 10 miles away that I will have to try to get to. I don't drive much - bad shoulders - both need replacing. Thanks for advice!
