SA ( sebaceous adenitis)

Is it true that you can test for SA on ONE hip... get a negative. Test the OTHER hip... get a positive??? Wouldn't that mean that if you don't test in JUST the right spot, you could get a false negative? I was told this by a breeder, but don't really know.

Really ? I called a few vets yesterday and one said 109 bucks !! plus 35 bucks just to see doctor!

I thought I was right when thinking this test should be cheaper. Darn I need to find a vet that would do it most don't even know what i am talking about when i call ( the receptionist :wacko

I didn't necessarily mean hip... I didn't want to confuse anyone. I just meant they test on the body to obtain the biopsy.

I think that $109 isn't that expensive when I compare them to my vet costs. Just to see my vet is usually at least $65.

Well the vet I normally go to is only 20 or 15 bucks to see him but he does not do that test. He might but his receptionist do not know what we where talking about. I might have to just go there and ask if I can see their lab charts.....

Roxy25, What vet do you go to? From what I remember, you live in the L.A. area. I live in the South Bay. Your vet is much more reasonable than mine. I wish my vet only charged $20 bucks.

I think mine are around $200
