The canine genetics lab at the University of Minnesota is doing research on Addison's Disease. They are requesting cheek swabs from healthy standard poodles that are at least 5 years old. The poodles must be clinically healthy and have no history of Addison’s disease, or any other autoimmune disease.

If you are willing to participate, please send an email to Gabriel Fisch [email protected]. He will send a cheek swab kit in the mail, a prepaid return shipping label, instructions regarding how to collect the cheek swabs from your dog, and a study consent from. If you have more than one dog who could participate, let him know how many kits to send. Don't forget to give him your address!

Thanks for posting that information. I will email and ask for a kit for Lily who will be 11 in September and is in fabulous condition with really no health problems. The more we can collect and analyze good diverse data sets the more we will be able to breed away from markers that indicate risks or actual pathologies.
