Reds are accepted as a dark variation of Apricot and I believe post are registered as Apricot.
When I registered my Parti Girl I just check off Cafe Au Lait since they don't accept Partis for breed showing its not important to specify if the dog is of broken color. They just need to know the base color.
From what I have read when the breed was imported to American they only brought solid colored dogs over and with the Partis being rare in the beginning most spotted pups were culled and not spoken of. There are quite a few breeds who have more colors then what the standard allows, like Shar Pei can come in bi color but can not be "shown" in AKC and many breeders won't admit to have spotted pups and just cull or pet out the pups.
