Vinnie is my first poodle - he joined two Italian Greyhounds and a Whippet. I have fed raw for years too. Vinnie's breeder fed raw to the litter and when he came here he started right in on the raw - no supplements - his hair grows like CRAZY - I groom him once a week or he gets too shaggy for my taste!
do you feed barf or prey modle? what's your main animal soruce? lol :p
I feed BARF - I rotate between Nature's Variety pre made, Honest Kitchen (Force, Embark and Prefrence (the one that you add your own meat) and am going to probably use some Urban Wolf (a premix that you add your own meat - I have used it before and cooked the meat, but you can use it with raw also). Animal source - lamb, chicken or beef.
I feed prey model to my poodle, and dont give any supplements besides fish oil. Riley is very healthy, and has been fed this way for 6 years. So, no, they dont need Extra supplements (i am not one for alot of supplements anyways). What size poodle will you be getting, and what type of raw do you feed?
I've been feeding some type of raw for 7 or 8 years now, and prey model for 5ish of that. I want to get a standard or a large mini-someone to keep up! :p- I'm not a big supplementer either, the odd probiotic to stop the stinkies but thats about it. For my guys their main animal source is chicken (4 times a week) and beef, fish and pork rotating the other days. all my dogs have wonderful coats, soft and brillant intense coloured.
