How well does your poodle share attention?

Every time I talk on the phone, Normie grabs a squeaky toy and leans against my leg while squeaking it madly.

When I go on the laptop, he tries to get between it and me.

I deal with the phone by going into another room and the laptop by a firm "No!" that earns me a deflated dog look.

My poor toddler dog is only half-trained.

Sophy is the opposite - she is an inattention seeker! Once she knows my attention is wholly occupied she quietly gets on with sorting through waste paper baskets, emptying my pockets, and generally hunting for crumbs in places she knows I would discourage if I saw her.

Otherwise known as, 'Quick, Mom is on the phone, let's eat the ice cream!'

When DH and I are cleaning up after dinner (BORING!), Buck will go into hubby’s study and look for something to distract us: glasses, documents, shoes. We’ve been trained to close the door.
