Mia does the more common 180 (and sometimes, 180 after 180 after 180...). I don't think it's settled why dogs circle before pooping, but there was a study that showed that dogs tend to align themselves along a north-south axis when pottying. I guess if you're lost in a forest and can't find moss on a tree, you can just watch your dog potty 馃し鈥嶁檧锔
I saw that north-south factoid on a dog treat bag a couple months ago. After some careful research, I have determined that Phoebe鈥檚 compass is broken. 馃し鈥嶁檧锔

North/South?? I never paid attention. I always figured it was completely random. I'll start paying attention now. With 2 data points Elroy faced North once, and South once. Hmmm, could it be true? 馃
