Question about coloring of new pup.

Hi everyone,

I will be bringing home a Standard poodle puppy in 2 weeks. He is brown. His mother is a faded brown. She is 3 years old. His father is pure black. The mother's parents were blue and brown. I'm wondering if my puppy will fade less than his mother due to the fact that his father is pure black and his pedigree shows almost all black or brown 10 generations back. Or will he more or less be the same color as his mother? Can you breed out the fading gene or is it there to stay? Just wondering. Thanks in advance to all that respond.

Browns fade, its happens. Most start of dark but then lighten out as they age. The more sun they get the quicker they fade out so its best to keep them indoor or in sheltered areas.
