Hi, Jaanu is a 7 month old minipoo and we have to take him out about 9-10 times a day to go potty. He goes pretty much 100% of the time that he asks to go out. Is this a normal frequency and can we expect the frequency to decrease as he gets older? Thanks so much!

Every dog is different. If that works for your dog, keep it up. At that age, Beckie (toy/mini) pretty much went every 1-2 hours. She had a very immature bladder. She started getting better around 10 months or so. Now at 3 year old she goes 4-5 times a day like any dog would.

She has always remained a challenge though, as she gets easily distracted and sometimes will go outside but not do anything. I’ve had piddles when I got up in the morning because I didn’t watch her carefully the night before. She reminds me of a little 3 year old...

Teach your dog a potty command if you haven’t done it yet. It is a must !
