Poop radar ?

Do dogs have a poop radar ?

It seems every time I go in the grass in the backyard I step into a little doggy cake, but no matter how much they run around and chase each other, they never have it on their feet ?

I don’t remember ever having to wipe poop from a dog’s feet. Their body, yes, when they choose to roll into it... But that’s a whole different subject, lol !

What’s your experience ?

They have a very keen sense of smell and they know where the poop is located.

My daughter has a small horse farm and she is fastidious about cleaning up horse poop twice a day. She uses her dog, and Babykins when we visit, to help her find the poop quickly.

I go outside with my little dogs and follow them around with the pooper scooper so it gets picked up right away...youuuuuuuuusually. At night I just let them out and stand on the patio...can't see well enough to bother picking it up then but I make a note of where it is so the next morning I clean it up easily because if I don't get it right away, I can't always find it, especially now that I've raised my mower blade because it's gotten kind of hot these days. Their poop is usually pretty firm and dark so it doesn't make a mess if stepped on. But it hardly ever gets stepped on. But I know what you mean. I've never seen them step on any if there is some out there. Funny huh.

I pick up about once a week, and I usually don’t go in the grass. Today, I forgot...

Beckie is smart, she only goes on the outer edges of the yard. Merlin goes right in the middle...

I always have a bag in hand even in the backyard, now I have a scooper. I bought a little tin trash can with lid, just drop it in each time and on trash day our it goes. LOL poor trash men. But if I or someone else misses I am sure to sep in it, never the dogs.

That's what I use too Murfar, a little metal trash can with a lid lined with a couple of bags. Pretty handy.
