Tricks are impressive, but I am more blown away by Marley's ability to pick up new words without our having to teach him. And I am continually amazed by what a good dog he is. We put his toys on the fireplace hearth while we were cleaning, and then never put them back on the floor, figuring he'd just take them when he wanted them. Well, eventually we realized he wasn't going to take them and put them back on the floor. He was so excited to have them back! Then, of course, we felt bad that he thought he couldn't have them. But what a good dog not to snatch them when they were right at poodle height.

Now, of course, if it had been a squirrel, bird, or cat instead of a toys, it would have been a very different story...
