Poodle tales...
I heard a nice poodle story down by the river this afternoon. A lady was admiring Poppy and telling me about the miniature poodle her family had when she was a child. As a very small girl she was sitting on the garden wall with her even smaller sisters and the poodle puppy, waiting for her Mum to come home from the shops. A woman paused to admire the wiggling puppy, saying "What a gorgeous dog! Is it a toy?" After a long stare from three pairs of eyes one of the little girls replied 'No, she's real!"

We met a couple with a poodle that looked like a miniature a few weeks ago. They thought my toys were puppies, so I figured they weren’t poodle savvy.
I explained they were toys and then asked them if theirs was a miniature.
To which they replied «*no she weighs 17 pounds*»...

This is such a timely thread! Just last night, I was at a social gathering at the home of someone with a doodle. I mentioned I'm getting a puppy. The host asked me what kind, and I said "a standard poodle."
My host said, "You mean, like, a 'regular' poodle, right? Standard, as in, regular?"
I started to say, "Well, um, there are three sizes of poodle, and..." but clearly, i'd already lost him.

Hahahaha...that's hilarious! They definitely weren't poodle savvy. I get asked all the time (not by poodle people) how old my toy poodles are. And everyone is so surprised...not as much by Matisse but by Maurice's size. They're sure he must be a puppy. lol.We met a couple with a poodle that looked like a miniature a few weeks ago. Everyone things Cayenne is a puppy as she is 3.5 LBS, I say that puppy is 5 years old, they say they never saw on that small, I say there are smaller one. Poor save is only 7 and she has gray on her topknot and around her face she is 7 and they think she is the oldest, when Bell only had 2 teeth left and is 15 the only one that loves her toys still every night while I watch TV
