Yes! Nailed it exactly. I use a waterproof pen for the ink. In the past I've experimented with bottled ink with a fancy, pressure sensitive nib and it has nicer line quality results but I find it too messy and cumbersome for my liking.

One thing I will say is that the sketchbook pages are perforated, which is fancy but not great for watercolors since any water touching the perforation might make the pages rip more easily!
