Hi!
We have a brand new Standard from a backyard situation... it is likely we will have to be patient for his colour but I'd love your input!
Here's what I know...
Mama was either Cafe au Lait or Silver Beige. "Breeder" said Cafe and that she was born brown, but she was mystified by this transformation do mama could be either of the two, really, depending on how she cleared.
Sire was black/white parti.
Litter was a mix of solid brown, brown/white and black/ white parti.
Our pup is brown/ white parti.
Amber eyes, liver nose, paw pads and nails are brown & self due to parti.
14 weeks old.
------------
I would guess if he were silver beige we'd see some real change in face by this age? (I haven't shaved)
I understand Cafes clear much later.
He does have a lighter colour in the hair covering the bridge of his nose. I'm not sure I've captured it digitally (I doctored one a bit), but in natural light people can pick it out. Like just a little creamier than his brown -- which I'd call liver in a sporting dog.
What are his chances of staying brown?
What would you place your money on?
Just curious!
