I have read what is posted here, I have a profile picture and an avitar picture when I go and look at user CP. But when I save both, I get a message that says fail to upload. They are both within the size limit listed. Can anyone help???

OK, Never mind, now that I posted the problem - it works!!!
Cute avatar!! Do they want to come in or do they want you to come OUT?? lol!
Probably both - they're poodles and you know as long as they are with mom they are happy! Thanks - I love this picture - it is one of my favorites!
Glad you sorted out your problem! I have trouble with photo size. A lot of my photos wont post because they are too large. Does anyone know if/how I can make them smaller? Thank you...

If you use photobucket to host your photos (if you don't, perhaps you could try it!) once you've uploaded your photos you can click on "edit" above the chosen thumbnail of the photo you want, and there are resize options there (I usually go 600 pixels wide or tall)

That's the slower way of doing it though, cos you have to upload the full size version and then resize them individually.

Personally I use a wee program called "IrFan View" (google it, it's a free small download) that is easy to resize and crop photos, and once you're used to it it's fast to do with the keyboard shortcuts! I have a folder permanently on my desktop that I save all resized photos into automatically for two reasons: so as to not over-write the original large photo that I want to keep, as well as not having to filter through (rather substantial) folders of photos to find the ones I resized for uploading to the internet. So I resize photos with IrFan View, save into a desktop folder (which leaves the original file intact) and then go to photobucket or to here and will just upload all the photos that are in my folder on the desktop. Later I'll get around to deleting the photos in the desktop folder as they're no longer needed cos I have them online (and still have the original files where ever they were originally) just leaving the folder empty for the next lot (which will only be a day or two away no doubt. haha!)

Hmm, now that might be as clear as mud, but ahh well.

I have the same problem, but since I don't know what your trick was, I can't do it to mine. Also, what is an avatar? I saw the movie, but I don't think that's it... :)
avatar is the lil pic under your name, but you've already figured that one out I can see!!!
Still confused

Thanks, but what is the difference between an avatar and a profile picture then, and why did my avatar changed when I changed the profile picture?
the profile picture is just the photo on your profile (only viewed when you view the persons profile) whereas the avatar is the one that displays on every post under your name. I have no idea why your avatar would change with it though, are you sure you didn't change it instead??
avatars and profiles

lol, it probably was me! I'm still getting to know this forum! Thanks.
