Have people heard about this genetic study being done by the PCC? You have to pay to participate ($65 CDN), but as I understand it, you will receive information from the investigator about the variation in your poodle's immune system. Long story short, the idea is that immune system variation within a breed is really the bottom line we are trying to get at when we look at COI, because it is the loss of MHC variation that leads to problems such as inbreeding depression and autoimmune disease.

They are looking specifically for healthy poodles with particular types of pedigrees (very closely bred/high Wycliffe and rare pedigrees), but I think they will take all comers.

This has already been discussed in another thread.
It's a very exciting study, and I've already submitted Troy's DNA sample.
