I have gone to 2 of the Irish Setter Nationals as well... Michigan and this year at Lancaster. My best friend has 3 Irish Setters and I have gone with her and with my Standard. They were alot of fun and I am hoping PCA is fun too. Will let you know
The folks that are owned by their setter are very nice. I showed Irish for 11 years..:) I was owned by them for over 30 ....

Lorraine is SUPER NICE, at least all the times I've ever met her. She and my mother keep in touch so I get updates on her daughter that way which is nice since we are the same age.

Yes I do mean Tibetan Spaniels, I have two that have gotten sidelined along with Saleen thanks to pregnancy. Going to be bringing them both out though the first of March. Nicholas will just have to be ready to attend his first show by then - hope it isn't so cold by then. He has a cute little onsey all set aside for him to wear.

I WOULD show a poodle if I got a decent one OR if that was the condition upon which I purchased a nice one from a breeder. I like to show and I'm good at it so I don't think the extra grooming that a poodle would require would bother me much. I've handled a lot of other breeds, mostly terriers and sighthounds, and love it. I had considered perhaps showing Saleen with UKC since it is less competitive just for the fun of it. She's not the quality that I've been blessed with in other breeds I don't think so AKC would be a waste of time and skill. I've gotten some confusing evaulations on her. I am going to have Charolette Patternson look over her either at the end of the month if I am not busy in labor and delivery that weekend (our kennel club does a meet and greet at a retirement home every year and we plan on going with the spoos), or at the show here in March. She's one of the show chairs so she'll be there and is always ready to give an opinion.... on anything, LoL.
How do you feel about red spoos :)

If a red fell in my lap I wouldn't turn it down so long as it was red and NOT apriocot. I'd have a hard time with an apricot. Thats my main objection to red spoos actualy, a lot of them aren't really red by my definition. Aren't they hard to show? That is what drew me to black and tans in tibbies it's a PAIN in the you know what to finish one.

I will amend my statement, to be fair, if I got hold of a really amazing apricot I wouldn't turn that down either. It would have to be awesome though if it were apricot or black. I do so love the other colors.[/QUOTE]

I will keep that in mind :) I took an Irish setter Red SPoo to the ISCANationals in Phoenix a couple of years ago , and did I ever have fun...I think a nice red handled well and groomed well will win..
This was taken inside with a flash the others were taken at almost sunset Red are the hardest to photograph. Some good examples af red Spoos! The bottom pic is my apricot female
