I don't know if I'd say it's worse than Katrina. That was so aweful for so many people. But it's still just as tragic. However, there is recovery from K. There may never be from the spill in our lifetime. IMO...

It's just that Katrina ended, and for me at least, I had some control, a plan, hope that all would be "right" again.

This spill, it's still blowing

And, (warning! warning!political opinion on its way!) yes BP cut corners and operated in criminal manner.

But it's a fine example of Wag the Dog that it is all their fault.

They were allowed to do so. It was the job of MMS to permit and sign off on the operation...
