I'm looking for obedience book recommendations. I'm really interested in more of the competition type obedience. I mentioned in another post that Harley's very trainable and loves to learn. I would love to take him to a class, but he doesn't like the car at all, so driving an hour away, every week doesn't seem like a possibility. He's gotten a lot of the basic stuff down: heel, sit, down, come, leave it, no, bring me your toy, etc. We are working on bringing a specific toy out of the pile and making good progress. I would like to know more about the competition level stuff and how it's really supposed to be done.

Thanks Wonderpup, I'm off to add to my Amazon wishlist, lol! The book for small dogs sounds really neat. Bailey is smart, but he's not as "trainable" as Harley, maybe that could help. Thank you Cbrand too!

Call me completely insane, but I'm thinking abou taking Harley to Louisiana for Thanksgiving, so we are working more on the car anxiety. He loves the car as long as it's not moving. He jumps in willingly and likes to meet people at the drive thru, but he's so tense while the car's moving. Leaving him at the vet is just such a hassle, so I'm going to take him on a few short trips and see how it goes. Maybe if he get over his anxiety, we could start some obedience classes. I think he would really enjoy that.
