Simon has earned his AKC Fit Dog Bronze level title.

(Edit: Okay, I'm tired.... these are from the walk for his Silver level title, that I still need to submit.) One of our activities was a virtual community walk, where we stopped at one of the many murals that have been painted around town (sponsored by the VCB) the past few years.

These are from his Bingo walk for his Bronze level title.

Leo and Lily have earned their AKC Fit Dog Silver titles. Their virtual community walks for that had a Bingo theme, where we had to find items on one of a number of Bingo cards.

Lily found a wooden fence and something red on a house.

Leo found some flowers that I called "close enough to red for our purposes", and the same wooden fence.

This is the Fit Dog group that Simon's walk was done for. Kelli's Virtual AKC FIT DOG CLUB | Facebook Just use something like MapMyWalk to record your walk, and the instructor can sign off on it. .

how does this work?

You can find the info here. AKC FIT DOG Titles – American Kennel Club Basically, there are three categories, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. For each level, you need a certain number of points, and there is a checklist specific to that level. Some things, like our walks, can be done virtually. After you have enough points, you submit for the title, and provide all the documentation you need.

I still need to apply for his Silver level, but we have met all the requirements. The girls both have their Silver level. I doubt anyone will ever get a Gold level, since they don't (and likely won't ever) have the required AKC titles.

While I still need to send in the application and checklist, Simon's AKC Intermediate Trick Dog video has been approved. We started recording stuff in May of last year, but then I got sidetracked. We finally recorded the rest of them a couple of days ago.

Yeah, I saw the FB groups. Unfortunately, I deleted all my social media a few years ago, so that's not an option.

We've got the independent walks. We're probably doing gold level walks at this point, but finding the other points has proven tricky. The options are:

1. AKC Fit Dog course - none taught in our area, as far as I can tell
2. Runs (complete one organized run over 1 mile) - this is the one I almost drove 3 hours to and from Davis for... most of the runs in our area do not permit dogs. I'm registered for the SF Marathon 5K which is permitting dogs for the first time this year. But it's not until July.
3. Walks and Hikes - we're doing our independent walks, tracking them on Strava with our smart watches. No problem here.
4. Unique to you and your dog - I tried to get permission to count our pre-agility and agility courses, or our Intermediate trick dog certification, but they didn't approve it.
5. AKC title related to fitness - we're working on obedience and agility, but we're months away at best. Pinot just did his first tunnel Saturday...
6. AKC Parent Club Performance Title - not applicable to poodles, I don't think.

So it looks like our only option is (2). I've seen some virtual Fit Dog walks but they're all run on Facebook. :-( I just need to be patient for the SF Marathon because then we'll have it in the bag.

Any obedience or agility title will get us Silver. And I'll need to look at gold again to see what's necessary.

How did you earn your points for Bronze and Silver, @TeamHellhound ?

For the girls Bronze and Silver levels and Simon's Bronze level, we did virtual group walks (category 3) and parkour titles (category 4). Simon's Silver level will be a virtual community run/walk (category 2) and a parkour title (category 4). Nobody has (and likely never will have) the required AKC title for their Gold level.

We love parkour. Leo and Lily are probably the most titled GSD and APBT in All Dogs Parkour, and they are two of only seven dogs so far to earn a Premier Championship (which requires 40 legs). They also have titles with the International Dog Parkour Association, ICE International Canine Ninja, Universal Canine All Stars, and DZ Pawkour. Simon has just started his parkour career.
