Greetings all!
I'm a newly converted poodle fan! My daughter, Katy, brought home a female chocolate standard poodle puppy a little over a year ago (Katy and Chalumeau are pictured in my avatar) and introduced her dad and me to the splendors of standard poodles!!
My first dog (Meika, whom I had to escort to the rainbow bridge in May 2009) was a mini dachshund and, while I still love the tenacious attitudes of those German varmint dogs, I've come to love the quiet royalty of the standard poodle, too. I will probably always have a weiner dog in my life (my "baby" dachsie, Juliet, is now 8 years old) and I've also decided that I won't be without a poodle either (good thing my husband likes to make me happy!)
Our newest family member is Princess Lucybug Fancy Pants Plum; a sweet, beautiful, smart red standard pupppy from Arreau Standard Poodles in Ontario. We picked up Lucy on Sunday 10/25 and she has melded so perfectly with our current pack (Katy's spoo, dachsie Juliet, and our 10 year old mix-breed Hannah) that it's like she's always been part of our family.
Lucy has yet to have an potty accident in the house (which I think is stellar for an 8 week old puppy!) and she walks on the leash like a pro! She's a happy, self-confident little squirt and I can't wait to watch her grow and develop into the gorgeous adult I know she'll be.
I've put our name down for rally classes starting in January - I know she'll do great! I'm pretty excited to show her off!!
So... that's my pack... I've been lurking and (occasionally) posting for a little while, now - and I thought I'd introduce myself officially since I'm now officially owned by a spoo!
Thanks for listening!
