Welcome tannerokeefe - he is absolutely too gorgeous and to die for. We were hoping for a silver but only had blues in the litter we had our name down for so we got our baby blue "T". I am a poodle virgin too or at least I was  T is now almost 6 months old so we're on a steep learning curve.

It is too late at night for me ot think about names, will jump back on tomorrow and see what everyone has suggested.

He is definately silver - no question unless the photos are creating a really light face. His face has already changed colour at 8 weeks, the blues generally don't change for quite a while and not the whole face just smaller patches (I am finding anyway). He looks to have the lighter paws already too, T's paws really only just started to change at about 4 months.

He is just adorable, can't wait to see photos as he grows

Welcome! Beautiful pup!

These threads have pics of the same Silver standard:

The dog in the upper left of this pic is blue:

and we are pretty sure this is a blue too:

BLUE
Is a dilute of black. It carries the fadding gene. Blue puppies are born black and turn blue by two years of age. Blues take the longest time to clear. Puppies at a young age will have brown highlights showing they are a blue not black puppy. By 2 years of age the dog will turn a dark gun metal gray. There are varing shades of blue as in any color. Blue should have black points and dark brown eyes.

SILVER
Is a dilute of black. It also carries the fadding gene. Silvers are born black and clear over time. Silvers should have silver face and feet by the age of 6 weeks to be a silver. There are varing shades of silver to a sparkling platinum that is almost white to a beautiful pewter color. Silvers must have black points and dark brown eyes.

I was looking at this post and I saw the fourth link and I thought "oh, I'll look at the picture of that blue and see if he looks like Bear since everyone is telling me he is a blue as well" then I look at it and cracked up when I realized that it was Bear and I :high5:

Welcome! He is indeed a nice silver...I bet he will be STUNNING by the time he is about 6-8 months old. I love the really light silvers!

We had a silver male foster for awhile named R2D2 the silver robot from Star Wars. That is all I can think of right now...we just called him R2.

Its all yours guys! We need another male dog in our house like we need another hole in our head...so we won't use it anytime soon! He came with the name but I don't know if his new owners decided to keep it or not. My kids did love it and I thought it was pretty cute, too!

If the kids don't like like it I'm definately going to steal it for my silver standard that is in the one day plan - R2D2 - love it!
