My Beach 'Venture

Hi my PF friends.....this is Dewey. I got to go on my first beach trip! My momma finally took me even though we live only 2 hours away. My hooman sister and her dog went with us. We went to an island called Galveston on the Gulf of Mexico.

A storm was coming in so the clouds were really dark but it was a great day! My momma didn't think I would like the waves splashing on me but I did! I wanted to run in!

I had to stay on the "rope" because we were in a state park. I really wanted to chase the birds and loved smelling things that washed up on the beach.

Here I am waving to Rory ( my PF friend ) in Australia. I know he loves the beach too!

We also went to the bay area.

We stayed in a room and I was really good even though I heard dogs barking down the hall. There was a really bad storm that night but my momma said to stay quiet!

The next day we got up to run in a 5K charity race to help the homeless animals on the island. It was a beautiful day after the storm!

Oh Dewey that is such a fun adventure!! The beach is the best, so glad you got to go. It’s sad you couldn’t run around properly but at least you got to play in the water still. Thanks for waving to me!!

Ohhhhh....Dewey! That is such a glorious beach! You guys are sooo lucky. What a lovely day you all had. Glad you liked the waves and the fun. Did you get to go see that dog that is in the water in the picture? Our mom has shoes that look exactly like your mom's! We liked your photos and the story of how your day went. Thanks for showing us! Our mom has always been fascinated with Galveston and would like to visit one day. (and now she won't stop singing that song about Galveston oh Galvesto-ah-on.):sing::musical-note: Make her STOP!

Thanks M&M ! We’ve seen your beautiful Washington beach pics too. My momma would love to search for agate like yours and just look at the scenery! She has a sister near Seattle and really hopes to visit that area some day!

Thanks Asta! We also hope to go to the Alabama beaches some time . They are not that far away and look so beautiful. Hope you are doing well!!

Dewey you’re so lucky! I know mama has talked about taking us to the beach too... it’s only 45 minutes away! But she says we’ll get sand fleas in our hair (I think they are big ad bite and scratch hard!). Also she says we’re not allowed on the beach near us. Maybe one day mama will find out where we are allowed and take us... that would be so much fun!

Thank you for sharing the awesome pics with us. Makes us want to go even more. Maybe someday...

OH Dewey you would love it here ........we have lots of 'Dog Beaches' where no leashes are needed and you get to run and run and run .......unfortunately, my human's scooter can't go in the sand.... but we do go to the bay where there are sidewalks and lots of grass for walks and it's only 3/4 of a mile from my home! I love chasing seagulls! It's been too cold lately but come summer sunshine my human said we'd start going again!

I’ve been there too, and it’s not fair to be on a leash. So many smells that needed closer investigation! Good for your female to support a worthy cause!

Zeke & Stel, hope you get to go to a beautiful Florida beach some day. I know you would luv it too. But sand fleas??? my momma would say no too. Hoping you find a flea free beach! ? Now my momma is ‘tired she wants to drive to Florida from Texas down that big road to all the key islands. Hoping she will take me too!

Molly, I know I would have fun on a Cali beach! My momma would probably think I would run and never come back if I was chasing birds! I think you and me like to chase the same things and would have fun together- lizards, birds, dig for gophers/ moles!

Good to hear from you Buck! It would have been so fun to see another pood on the beach. It was a little chilly still but my hoomans hate to go when it is crowded down there. The big storm coming kept most people away.
