How well does your poodle communicate?

Normie got a new ball today. It's just the right size to nestle in his mouth and it bounces. oh joy!

A few minutes ago he managed to sneak it downstairs and into the backyard. A definite no-no.

And as expected, it went somewhere he couldn't reach.

Suddenly a small red dog started frantically bouncing up and down at the door. When I opened it he stared at me intently and started down the stairs, staring at me the entire time. Then he took me to the ball.

Timmy is out of the well.

[My apologies to those too young for Lassie references. Sorry.]

I always suspected Timmy had to have the ball in his pocket down that well, for Lassie to be so desperate to get him out!

When a toy goes out of reach, if we're in earshot, we hear tiny little ooh ooh ooh, monkey noises from Remo and much pointed staring and back and forthing til we see what he wants and get it back in reach.

Pogo habitually lets his ball roll off the deck. Then he stands at the exit point and stares. And stares. And stares. Eventually one of us gets a clue and either opens the gate so he can go get it or else retrieves it for him.
