Miami for Nimbus!

I've never done a Miami before (well, almost, I did one on a toy once while in grooming training) and I did it after a rather tiring day of grooming clients and a vet visit so it's certainly not perfect, but I can always touch it up!

I've been calling her my little circus pony.

Here's a before:

And after!

I'd prefer a fluffy tail with this look, but since it was short to begin with, not much to do about that! She's cute regardless :) I do already miss her fuzzy bear face though, pretty as her clean nose is.

Here's a question! Do you prefer the freshly groomed look, all perfectly fluffed, or do you prefer the curly look? Personally I love the texture and look of Nimbus' hair once it curls up a few days after grooming. Or in this case, the same day after a short walk in the rain right after getting home, haha.

I love it!! She is beautiful, the Miami is my favorite cut. I keep Raven in one all summer. She will probably get hers next weekend. What blade did you use on her body?

Thank you :) I used a #5 blade

Nimbus is gorgeous in the Miami.

Personally I adore a freshly groomed, properly blown dry with that velvety finish. Sadly it doesn't last long, one potty break in the rain, or walking on damp grass and the curls curl.

She looks great! I personally prefer the natural curly look myself, although both are beautiful in their own way! Can I ask how you do her ears? I love the way they look

Nimbus really rocks the Miami - I, too, prefer the natural curls.

Wow Nimbus is gorgeous! She is rocking the Miami. Thanks for sharing with us! I prefer the straightened look, which is why my dog gets a bath every two weeks. I would bathe her every week if I had the time, just to keep her always looking straight and fresh haha.

I love this clip. Nicely done. And ditto on the ears. How did you do that?

Thank you everyone for the kind words! :)

For her ears, I clipped over the whole ear with a long clip comb and then scissored them following the shape of the ear. I think originally I went over them with a 1" comb, probably in March sometime, but since then I've just been shaping the edges, with the bottom edge trimmed right up to the leather, and getting farther away as you go up to give them a bigger, rounder appearance, if that makes sense. I'd say her ears are about 2 inches long at present.

She is really gorgeous and I especially like how you have done her ears and how her topknot and ears are blended together.

I am with you on the curls. Often I dampen my hands and run them over Poppy after a groom, or mist her lightly to get the curl back. I do her body in a 5 blade too, so there is not much left to curl up the first week or so.

You did a beautiful groom on a beautiful girl!

Wowzers! What a beautiful dog and fabulous groom job. I love that Miami. You did a beautiful job. I love her ears, her bracelets and the clean face. And I love her color. Although the fuzzy face is cute, I am partial to a clean shave.

I lean toward loving the fresh groomed, smooth finish...poofy, soft. But it sure doesn't last long. And then the curls, which I think are cute and lovely too. That is just such a "poodley" thing to have curls. So I like that fine.

Thanks for showing us all those wonderful photos!
