We spent the morning at a local pet festival, advertising for our business - the boys did SO good.... once they got the initial silliness over with. We were out there from 9-2, talking to people and meeting dogs. There were other vendors and stuff set up, too. It was a pretty good turnout considering it had been moved, last minute, due to the weather.
They got a lot of attention and ate it right up. SUCH good boys!
And yes. I put them to work carrying brochures in little saddle bag pouches my mom made for us, lol. Now they're passed out, sleeping! We'll be doing this event every year, now - and we'll be attending another event (as guests - not with a booth set up) in two weeks!
I think it's great that you are giving people the opportunity to see what a poodle looks like in something other than a Miami or an English Saddle. Glad the boys were good representatives of your business.
Yes, they're wonderful mascots - they love the attention that they inevitably attract, and even pose for pictures sometimes with BIG smiles! We met a couple other poodles, some doodles, and a pony (well - a great dane, but almost the same thing next to the boys!)
The lure course was supposed to be there, but due to the last minute reschedule (weather) they didn't make it. So we were a bit bummed about that but we've still got WoofStock in June so fingers crossed they get to do it there. I wish i could find a lure course around us, but haven't been successful yet - and i'm not spending $500+ on one for home.
I also wish we had someone to take photos of everything - i was too busy handling the boys and talking to people to do it. Next year we'll have my dad do it, he's got some photography experience and would love to be the official photographer lol. I'll see if i can't track down some online - there were a ton of people taking pictures for social media, and the news channel took some video of the boys.
It was a lot of fun. And they did exceptionally well considering we've been cooped inside over the winter/spring and haven't done much training lately.
