Sounds like you got more info. on who the dad might be? From what I recall you said they let her roam free and they also bred doodles and mini poodles. Regardless, they are all adorable and your announcement photos and baby names are fantastic. I hope you had a chance to catch up on your sleep and that your son is feeling better.

They've always said dad was springer doodle and they also said she was due the 17th. I initially didnt trust that because, well, the entire operation is questionable. But she did whelp when they thought she would, so I guess I am willing to believe it! They try to contain the girls in heat and didn't intend to breed her but a springer doodle got to her before that I guess. They do try, I just believe things have gotten out of control for them.

All of their puppies have quite a poodly coat. Some of their adult males are F1B doodles and most of their adult females are purebred poodle, according to the social media spying I've done. They never advertise F1 puppies but I have deduced that they've sold F1B and F1BB doodles. I get the feeling that they keep everything mostly poodle for the coat and throw in the small doodle piece so they can advertise doodles and get in some really cute colors and patterns.

So... I guess long story short I'm pretty confident in my guess that these babies are at least 75% poodle but there is a good chance that they're more poodle than that. But then again, Durian's coat is pretty dang smooth so far! Hehe.

And of course.... this info all has a huge asterisk because 1. You're relying on me to piece together various social media pictures to identify their dogs and 2. You're relying on the info they give on social media to be accurate. LOL I suppose anything is possible!

Finally got the big whelping box set up for them! Papaya appreciates it because she can fully stretch out now. She fit in the pool, but either had to have her back curled against the pool or had to move to the middle and have no space for her legs. Plus now we've got pig rails so I can sleep easy in my own bed knowing they won't get squished!

Morning weigh-in was ok. Everyone is gaining, but I am thinking Guava may be a little slow. I'll have to look up exact measures for when to do supplemental feedings or suspect a problem. But she appears vigorous and she's warm and as mobile as any of the rest, so I am not concerned yet.

We're working on laundry catch up and house cleaning today so maybe I'll grt some order back in my life! (Or not. ;) )

P.S. bonus pic of Jackfruit snuggling up to Papaya's leg.

The other dogs don't really seem to care. Picasso went nuts at first and we actually dropped him off ar my sister's house so he wouldn't disrupt Papaya's peaceful birthing suite. Now he doesn't even try to get in there.

Today was the first nail trim for the puppies. The baby fingernail clipper still looks big next to the puppies! I can't guarantee I did a good job but I at least did -A- job. 😅

Papaya was just sleeping! She doesn't mind one bit when I take her puppies anymore. The first couple of times she was nervous during weigh ins, but now she knows I take them, mess with them, then give them right back. She'll give a look to my husband or kids while they pet puppies, but no real concern unless a puppy starts squawking.

Their nails grow SO fast! You keep up on puppy nails so that they don't scratch up mama's poor belly and nipples. The puppies can be quite enthusiastic while they nurse, kneading and clawing. It's my job to keep Papaya as comfortable as possible so that she continues to want to nurse and be in with them, and that means no puppy daggers!

Yesterday we also started with ENS protocol, aside from little Guava since I had concern about how much weight she gained yesterday. (Today she caught up. May have just been I caught her before feedings at the weigh ins yesterday. As I said, her weight wasn't what I wanted but she appears healthy and perfect.)

But the ENS is kinda like puppy pilates... tickle their toes, hold them head up, then upside down, then on their back, then put them on a cold cloth. My kids think it's funny and calls it puppy torture, though it lasts just a few seconds.

My brother and sister-in-law were not happy when I tried puppy early neurological stimulation with my nephew. Oops!

Y'all are too kind to me! I appreciate it.

Some chonkers gained 18% of their body weights today. The smallest weight gain was 8%. So I'm feeling OK with how today went! The new blanket I've got under them makes for a wacky photo background.

Now it's bedtime at The PoodlesMoody Home for Wayward Poodles. I'll be back tomorrow to flood y'all with more gratuitous puppy stuff. :)
