Hi. Maggie started licking her thigh on Monday. A quarter sized 'spot' was noticed. She didn't like me looking at it. Sore? I got her to the vet on Tuesday. I went in with a mask. He looked at it, and gave her an antibiotic shot that lasted 2 weeks, and a steroid injection. He didn't shave it. It (the spot) is very scaley, and dry. I put some cortisone cream on it, and the treatment seems to be working. It does not appear warm to the touch, nor does she mind me touching it. I always thought that to say it was a hot spot you had to take a scraping and look under the microscope? That was not done. What say you?
