We had to put down our first rescue Standard (Louie) yesterday.
He was only 11, would have been 12 in December. He had ongoing disk problems and finally he lost function of his back legs. He was a very good boy, always cheerful. Even when he was down, he was upbeat. He could not get up, but he had a sparkle in his eye. I will miss him!
My sincerest sympathies. It is never easy losing a dog, but know you did the right thing, and he is waiting for you over the rainbow bridge...
