We had to put down our first rescue Standard (Louie) yesterday.
He was only 11, would have been 12 in December. He had ongoing disk problems and finally he lost function of his back legs. He was a very good boy, always cheerful. Even when he was down, he was upbeat. He could not get up, but he had a sparkle in his eye. I will miss him!

:flowers: Louie sounds like a very special poodle who was extremely grateful you were there to rescue him. Thanks to your love and special care, he was able to know what it felt like to have a full life and experience a dignified death with the ones he loved. Here's to Louie! May all of the wonderful memories carry you through such a deep sense of loss. :flowers:
