Let’s Share Grooming Day Photos!

I love to look at everyone’s freshly groomed poodles but don’t often have the time to go through all the individual posts or threads so I often miss those beautiful freshly groomed poodles. We all know the sweetness of a freshly groomed poodle.😊❤

I thought it would be fun to have a dedicated thread for “Grooming Day” pictures for everyone to share. It could be a one time share or a share every grooming day thing. I think it would be a great thread to get style ideas too! Let’s share our beautiful poodles on their grooming day and obviously it does not matter who grooms the poodle nor does the picture have to be shared on exactly that day. Feel free to share grooming days from the past too! It’s just all about the freshly groomed poodle. 😉

Joey was groomed today by his most wonderful groomer, whom I absolutely love!!! We hit the groomer jackpot! After a good chat we decided Joey’s coat will definitely work for the new style I want to try. We’re going for the longer ears and a big poofy, long blended topknot, not defined round poofy topknot. 😊 And of course, he must have a big round Pom Pom tail too! I’m sure it will be a few months before we get there but I think it will be beautiful look for him.

Kate is adorable! I love her sweet face!
Benni went to a new groomer since his former groomer moved away. He was great while being groomed but, as soon as we walked in, he lifted his leg and peed on a metal banister she has in her shop. The owner said he's not the only one that does that.... I'm hoping after he gets neutered, he won't be so inclined to leave his mark. She did an excellent job on him, and I love the way his coat feels like velvet.

Kate before and after her last grooming. She’s a mini on the small end of the spectrum. 11lbs of pure sweetness

OK right thread this time. Will delete other post.

This is after I did the pre bath body clip using 7F, also first time trying bracelets.

This is after the bath, blow dry and clip. We are exhausted 🤣. Will try and get a better photo later.

It's starting to look like an actual short German trim it was supposed to be, instead of the "Oops... that wasn't the blade I was intending to use...." that it actually was. A couple of weeks ago, I decided that the floofs had to go (lots of rain, and he was starting to mat some), so I used a 4F, and then switched to a 10 to do his ears and tail. I forgot to switch back to the 4F when I went over his body again. I did his face and feet today, and tidied up a few scraggly odd and ends.

Hey moderators, can we make this thread a sticky? It took me a while to find and I see no reason to start a new one. Just a thought.

This topknot is driving me crazy. I just want to cut it back like before, but I've got so much time invested. Happy's hair is so fine it's hard to manage. My skills are definitely lacking in this department. I'll take any and all advice. Anyway, here's Happy's latest.

When you are doing one Center band, are you using a rat comb to get the hair evenly split all the way from each side, along the top of the head and over to the other side? I just feel that if the side hair is not included in the bands then her pretty face is getting hidden. Also, if a Center bubble is the end goal, then I would continue to grow out the front until that Center bubble was consistent ( including the side hair), then I would trim the hair behind the bubble so that it was more like a modified continental. If it keeps driving you crazy, just go back to a Miami clip, which she will look absolutely gorgeous in.

Thanks for sharing that video. I have a cheap rat tail comb, I think it used to belong to my daughter, but I need a quality one. My problem is not enough length. The side hair is just not long enough to reach the band. Right now the objective is to keep Happy's hair out of her eyes so she can see. I'm going to stick it out. We're at a point where it's getting easier not harder.
