I sold my Wahl switchblade because it was too big for me and I didn't like how fast the blades heated up. So I went to Ebay to get the Andis 2-speed and bid on at least 4 of them and kept losing at the last minute. Finally I won a brand new pair for $99.00. It's a good deal because PetEdge has them for $134.99 I think.

Unless the "Buy it now" is a spectacular price, you're right... it's no different than getting things from a catalog (PetEdge for example...) I've been looking for a velocity dryer but eBay is letting me down! Most of the new ones are either "Buy it now" or from some business who has the starting bid around where you can buy them new from a grooming catalog... Used ones usually look so beat up I'm not comfortable spending any amount on them...

The one I have my eye on now is actually from the PetEdge catalog - it's the B-air Bear Power Pet Dryer for $109ish (plus shipping) It has 30,000 FPM which is higher than most of the other dryers in that price range... I just have to decide how badly I want one... :)

Happy shopping/bidding! :)

Dang, wish I had known you had that for sale, I LOVE mine, would have bought it off you in an instant. Haha, like I really need another set of clippers. Mine doesn't heat up much though...

Congrats on the new clippers and getting such a great deal.

They have a lot of really great stuff on Ebay. You just have to have the patience to look for it and stick it out to watch the bidding.
We found the buy now Andis 2 speed this evening for $99.00 - We are going to buy it for sure. I was going to post to make sure it was the right one. Ebay has a great deals on grooming supplies.

Hey PetEdge has one that was originally $189 marked down to $109. I'll edit and put in the link but tell me what you think about it. My dh is going to buy me one soon.

Doesn't look like a bad dryer, you can look at the speficications and it gives you things like horsepower and air speed, compair it to what else is on the website and see how it measures up. Idealy you'd want the most power with the highest airspeed that won't break the bank :)

Hehe, ebay is a great place to buy

I bought the B-air dryer the small one in the link, when I first opened and while it worked great (even for my S'poo), I upgraded as I could afford it. It is a good little dryer and even being 2HP, it's still puts out and does the job. For the price, it's worth it, especially when your only doing your own dogs. I think tho, for a salon, it's just not enough to do the workload, but would be great as a back up or in the bathing room for blowing out coat or getting the excess water off before fluffing. One thing I noticed about that lil Bear, it does get a bit warmer than my Kool Dry, which is good for setting the coat :)

Kpoos and Plumcrazy - that dryer you are looking at only has a 2 HP motor in it - IMO, that is not enough power to dry a standard poodle quickly. I would go for at least 4 HP, unless your dog is in a short clip.
Amazon too :) Glad I know this, I was wondering on this because my dogs coat will vary.
