Sorry, I have been so busy, but I am still lurking here and reading! Heheehe! Anyway, guys- Bucky is soooo itchy and it is driving us BOTH crazy! He takes Comfortis for fleas and have not seen a flea on him. I bathed him in Equus (sp?) MicroTek shampoo and rinsed very well. I did not condition him because I did condition him last week at bath time and thought that may be the problem. He has been itching for two weeks now!! I even CUT his hair...you guys know I was trying to grow it, but we have decided to show UKC so I did a nice lamb cut. Still itching....

Being from GA i am assuming you have recently turned on the heat? That can Really sap moisture from a dogs skin. As long as there are no fleas then i would bet its just dry skin. I would give him 1-2 fish oil capsules a day to see if it helps. You can pick them up anywhere. That will Really help with dry skin/hair and has many other benefits too. I have my dog on it all year round.

I will try that. I also think it is his food...call me crazy, but he doesn't like chicken when I bake it or steam it for dinner. I try to give him a bite and he spits it out. His food was Fromm Puppy chicken. I switched him to lamb and barley and I am actually seeing improvement! Maybe he is allergic and that is why he doesn't like my chicken?! Lol- or maybe I am a bad cook!:rofl:

I'm having the same malfunction with all four of my dogs. The difference I think for me is that our lovely neighbors had a flea problem that spread in Novemeber. We got rid of the bugs but then the temp dropped really low, I can't believe how cold it is here in florida right now lol, and so now everyone seems to have dry skin. Wonderful I have flax seed oil that the poodles are on most of the time, but I've been forgetting to put it in the food so maybe if I got more diligent about it it might help?
They get itchy when they get dirty too, theyv'e torn up the backyard something awful in the last two months. It rained almost every day for a month here and that hurt more than it helped. So they have sand down in their coats too. I need a live in groomer (other than me) to help right about now.
